The social media marketing process involves 6 steps to get the desired results for the marketers. These steps are imperative to design an effective social media marketing strategy online.
1. ANALYZE YOUR EXISTING SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE
A deep analysis of your social media content, web structure, and SEO is required before you implement a strategy by setting some priorities. It should address the following questions:
➢ Have your social networks been optimized by including a cover photo, image, URL, brief bio, etc...
➢ Which social media networks are you most active currently?
➢ How does your profile compare to your competitor’s profiles?
➢ Which social media platforms are most beneficial or your business?
2. EVALUATE YOUR IDEAL CUSTOMER
Targeting a specific audience is important and for that, you have to know highly focused details of your buyer persona. In this regard, you should take into account age, job title, location, income, most used social network and pain points (how your business can solve the problems and address the needs).
3. DEVELOP A SOCIAL MEDIA MISSION STATEMENT
A marketer needs to create a mission statement for social media marketing by keeping the customer in mind. It will drive his future actions and allow him to know how well to use social media presence and project the brand identity in the correct manner.
4. IDENTIFY MAJOR SUCCESS METRICS
There has to be an assessment of how well your social media marketing efforts are going well for you. In this regard, you should identify the key success metrics that should be measured and they are as follows:
➢ Conversion Rate
➢ Time spent on the website
➢ Total Shares
➢ Brand Mentions
5. CURATE AND CREATE ENGAGING CONTENT
Once you know your ideal customer you can use the information to create and curate content. Your content should include the following forms that can be easily shared across social networks.
➢ Blog Posts
➢ Company News
6. OPTIMIZE, ANALYZE AND TRACK
It is always important for you to analyze your data or content, track the results and to make a few tweaks to optimize them better. Suppose Twitter and Facebook are your valuable networks, you should consider doubling your efforts on them.
